NOROO Paint Releases “Natural Well-poxy,” Korea’s ...
NOROO Paint released on June 23 “Natural Well-poxy,” a water-soluble paint for floors. It is safe to use even in unventilated rooms.This product is a new formulation of NOROO’s water-soluble epoxy resins and has been awarded an Ecomark as the first water-soluble flooring paint in Korea. It is safe and ecological since it does not emit any harmful solvent elements or toxic gas as do conventional oil-based paints.This new product has already been used in the Giheung Site of Samsung Electronics where ecological flooring materials are preferred. BC Card and SH Corporation are also considering whether it is suitable for their facilities.Primary marketing efforts are aimed at office hotels, commercial buildings, logistics centers, apartment buildings, government offices, food-processing companies, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, auto production lines and schools, where ecological paints are highly valued.

NOROO Paint launched “Yegreena,” a new interior paint on June 27 at COEX. Yegreena was ambitiously designed to replace wallpaper and satisfy the current needs of modern households.The name Yegreena was taken from the Korean expression meaning “pretty and beautiful.” The idea behind the creation aspires to a healthy lifestyle and greater coziness in the home. The fruit of technology and art, it is hoped that the European appeal of Yegreena will win over wallpaper consumers.Yegreena has also been awarded an Ecomark by KSA and the Korean LOHAS certification, thereby becoming recognized as an advanced ecological product among its competitors.

NOROO Paint&Coatings, “Yegreena” LOHAS Certified
Korean Standards Association (KSA, headed by Choi, Gab-hong) held the Korean LOHAS Certification Ceremony in the Grand Conference Hall of Korea Technology Center on April 14. Yegreena, an interior paint, was awarded with the Korean LOHAS certification.Managing Director Choi, Jae-bong received the certificate as the company’s representative. Mr. Choi commented on the certification, “We are determined to become a true LOHAS leader, aware that the health, environment and social values stressed by LOHAS will continue to be highly regarded in the future.”The Korean LOHAS certification by KSA is awarded to the products, services and facilities that have tangibly contributed to making the world greener, healthier and happier.

NOROO Paint established new factory facilities in Poseung Industrial Complex in Pyeongtaek and held a ceremony celebrating its completion on April 15.President Yang, Jeong-mo remarked on the completion of the Poseung Plant, “Establishing environmentally friendly facilities is a priority in our pursuit of innovation and progress.” He expressed his hopes for the new plant, “The Poseung Plant is capable of producing the highest-quality products with its fully automated system and will be highly competitive in the global market of environmentally friendly paints.”He added, “We are determined to continue R&D efforts to develop and provide a stable supply of high-value products.”

IPK Signs MOU with Busan Metropolitan City
On December 5, 2007, Mr. Heo, Nam-sik, Busan Mayor and Mr. Kang Oh-su, CEO of IPK signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for IPK HQ’s transfer from Anyang to Busan in the International Conference Room of Busan City Hall.This MOU specifies that Busan will provide administrative assistance and financial incentives (subsidies, financial assistance, and tax reduction and exemptions) as IPK moves its Head Office to Busan. President Kang promised, “Our company will work hard to employ local people and fulfill our responsibilities of good corporate citizenship, contributing to Busan’s long-term benefit.”The transfer is completed by February this year and IPK is one of Busan’s largest corporations.

DPI(Shanghai) paints Beijing Olympic Village after ...
NOROO Paint's localization strategy to capture China is being accelerated. DPI (Shanghai), NOROO Group's local company in China, has been ed as the paint supplier for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. According to the investigation by Beijing City since last March, DPI got high points for the excellent price competitiveness, eco-friendly paint manufacturing technologies, and durability of its paint. It seems to greatly affect the ion to have successfully completed re-repair work on the Forbidden City in 2005, following its successful repair, in which NOROO Paint beat companies like BASF (Germany) and AKZO (Netherlands). DPI (Shanghai) takes charge of a $510,000 painting project for Beijing Olympics Village.

NOROO, Conversion to holding company system
DPI Co., Ltd., having grown in the paint and ink industry with the brand name Noroo, was divided into an investment sector (DPI Holdings Co., Ltd.) and a Manufacturing and Sales sector (Noroo Paint Co., Ltd.) on June 1st, 2006, maintaining the former as the pure holding and parent company and the later, Noroo paint, as an independent corporation focusing on its specialty.
